Popular areas with sea view apartments in Dubai

Living by the sea in Dubai is a dream of many people. Let us be honest, who would not want to wake up with a picturesque view of the Persian Gulf in a high-end apartment created for comfort and luxury. We have compiled a list of sought-after areas to buy or rent apartments overlooking the sea, so you will only have to decide whether to buy a property in Dubai Marina or Al Sufouh.

Sought-after districts of Dubai with sea views

4 large districts fit this description:

• Dubai Marina

• Palm Jumeirah

• Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR)

• Jumeirah

• Al Sufouh

Apartments with sea views in Dubai are in high demand among residents and tourists. The luxurious amenities and stunning views they offer are the main of the many reasons why sea view apartments maintain a high level of popularity. The road and transport accessibility to different parts of the emirate is another major reason.

According to the latest trends, Dubai Marina tops the list of popular districts with sea view apartments in Dubai, followed by Palm Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). Jumeirah and Al Sufouh complete the list.

Let us take a closer look at the five most popular areas with sea view apartments.

Dubai Marina

Dubai Marina is the most popular area for luxury apartment rentals in Dubai. Therefore, it is not surprising that this neighborhood has also become the most sought-after area with sea view apartments in Dubai.

The area has a favorable location, excellent transport accessibility, a lot of entertainment, shops, and cafés. Real estate in this neighborhood ranges from cozy studios to luxury penthouses that are suitable for both single professionals and young families.

Palm Jumeirah

Palm Jumeirah, often called the eighth wonder of the world, is an artificial island in Dubai. This palm-shaped island is one of the most fantastic attractions in the world. It has state-of-the-art amenities, access to Dubai’s best tourist attractions, and panoramic sea views.

Being a popular place to stay and relax in Dubai, Palm Jumeirah offers interesting leisure. Here, gourmets can enjoy culinary delights in various restaurants, and thrill lovers can parachute over the island.

Real estate on Palm Jumeirah includes everything from luxury mansions to high-end apartments. When it comes to renting or buying sea view apartments on Palm Jumeirah, you should be prepared for prices above the average in the city.

Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR)

Popular for its carefree lifestyle, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is another Dubai coastal complex with apartments overlooking the sea. Known among beach lovers, JBR has about 35 residential buildings with first-class amenities. It is ideal for those who need vivid impressions, high-quality places for dinner, shopping or just relaxing on the beach. In addition, JBR is one of the best places for jet skiing in Dubai.

Real estate in JBR is available in various layouts from studios to 3-bedroom apartments.

Jumeirah

Jumeirah is another sight-after community with sea view apartments. This coastal area in Dubai offers a dynamic lifestyle with a wide range of living spaces.

Moreover, Jumeirah is a family-friendly neighborhood with various supermarkets and shopping malls such as Sunset Mall and Jumeirah Plaza. Residents can also find many schools in Jumeirah equipped with the most up-to-date teaching facilities and offering world-class programs. There is also a public beach in the community.

Jumeirah includes low-rise apartment buildings and a large collection of villas. Apartments in Jumeirah have four different configurations — from studios to 3-bedroom apartments.

Al Sufouh

Located along the west coast of Dubai, Al Sufouh is one of the most popular districts to rent and buy sea view apartments. This is a prestigious area of the city with access to the Palm Jumeirah. There is also the Wild Wadi Water Park, the best place for family holidays for people of all ages.

Al Sufouh is the perfect place for residents who like various gyms, salons, and restaurants nearby. Families who have decided to purchase or rent an apartment overlooking the sea in Al Sufouh prefer options from studios to 3-bedroom apartments.

How much does it cost to rent an apartment with a sea view in Dubai?

Is it difficult for you to choose a permanent place of residence? Before you take a major step and buy a property in a new place, it is a good idea to try to live in a rented apartment and evaluate it. So you can get a better idea of the future home.

In the coastal areas of Dubai, the cost of renting a small apartment is AED 50,000 per year.

Conclusion

That’s it — now you know where to look for apartments by the sea in Dubai. If you want to live in coastal communities, we also recommend you consider villas with sea views in Dubai. Have you decided which of these areas you would like to live in?

It has been some months since traveling normalized after the COVID19 pandemic disrupted the industry and caused billions of dollars in losses. Not only did the US drop the mask mandate for travelers back in April but so did the European Union one month later. With travel restrictions diminishing by the day, travelers like Drew Binsky are rejoicing and returning to doing what they love the most: Traveling the world.

Drew is one of the few world travelers and content creators who have visited 197 countries, which is 4 more than those recognized by the United Nations. Not only has Drew seen everything there is to see in terms of countries but he has also helped millions share his experience through his videos. With more than 7 billion views, Drew has grown to become one of the most prolific travelers out there.

Having “exhausted” what can be explored geographically, Drew now has chosen to explore the world of NFTs by launching his own collection. This collection consists of 420 “Travel Tokens” that represent all 197 countries through a mix of landmarks, natural wonders, city skylines, experiences, and funny stereotypes. With 348 common, 58 golden rare, and 14 platinum rare NFTs, Drew expects to attract all kinds of collectors.

As a true citizen of the world, Drew’s motivations are not monetary in nature but quite the opposite: 60% of all proceeds will be donated to Nova Ukraine. The nonprofit organization provides emergency relief and assistance to Ukrainians who have suffered as a result of the Russian invasion. The war has been going on for over 3.5 months, causing over 4.2k deaths and displacing over 7 million people.

In addition to helping Ukrainians, those who acquire a Travel Token will be guaranteed a free NFT from the 2nd collection, Drew’s Travel Hacking Course at no cost, a chance to win a free RTW trip with Drew, and access to his annual secret event.

The project has been in the works for over 14 months, which is a bit more than the time when Drew reached his goal of visiting all 197 countries in October of 2021. All of the tokens were conceptualized by Drew and developed by his creative team, allowing his over 7.4 million fans to share a part of Drew’s experiences when traveling the world.

The tokens can be minted via the project’s website and started minting started back on June 7th. The project quickly gained popularity among the NFT community, with the project’s Discord, Twitter, and Instagram communities following the trend.

While I knew that Tulum Crypto Fest would bring the vibe, the beauty, and the smarts, I had no idea how much it would make me re-fall in love again with Tulum and validate my reason for being here so much. Tulum brought so many of us here during the pandemic, pulled by an indescribable and energetic calling to this mystical jewel of the Caribbean and with a desire to find our tribe and apply our skills for good. Many of us feel a calling here to connect with other Earth caretakers, and collaborate on our many Web3 projects, all while feeding our souls with otherworldly mysticism and wonder. That’s what Tulum Crypto Fest was to me in a nutshell, but there was also more!

The talks from Crypto School were situated under the psychedelic mushroom sculptures of Papaya Playa’s sandy beachside courtyard. Speakers were approachable, spiritual and profound, educating noobs and enthusiasts alike on best practices for acquiring crypto, NFTs, wallet safety measures and what not to do along your crypto journey.

Conscious Crypto

Conscious crypto is a vibe unique to Tulum that mixes spirituality, a mindset of abundance, self-reliance, personal expression, and a conscious relationship with money into a perfect barefoot luxury blend that has permeated its way into the psyche of the fest.

Embodied by the Ascended Trader, Crypto Love Ninja, and Tulum Crypto Club Founders, barefoot luxury promises a lifestyle abundant in time and freedom, over visible material wealth.

Education goes Hand in Hand with Crypto

In order to create a decentralized world, we must onboard more people into crypto. Even in a bear market, we can see that crypto can be a path to wealth and financial independence. With so many countries adopting bitcoin as a national tender it is easy to see that the current dip crypto is a buying opportunity. But that’s what someone who has already drunk the kool-aid would say.

The Women Taking the Lead in Web3 panel featured a group of strong badass chingonas that are making waves in the web3 world sharing their journeys and lessons.

Francesca Martina, Miroslava, Sandra Ponce de Leon, Karen Nieves, Steph Ferraro: More Women in Crypto

Miroslava Pineda Landa, is a serial entrepreneur and CEO of Fractional Class Mexico. Miroslava and her team are advancing fractional ownership of high end real-estate through the blockchain, having developed their own marketplace, smart contracts and wallets to offer democratized real estate investment opportunities to the public.

Francesca Martina, crypto enthusiast and founder of More Women in Crypto, believes that a decentralized way of life using blockchain can create new social and financial systems that benefit those traditional financial systems often leave behind. The organization has a mission to drive the adoption of crypto, offer mentorship opportunities, and bring exposure and visibility to women in blockchain.

Steph Ferrera is a Mexican entrepreneur, artist, community leader and cofounder of More Women In Crypto. Steph is passionate about encouraging mass adoption of decentralized systems and believes women have a powerful role to play in DEFI. Her experience as an ecologist and regeneration warrior has helped her bridge her passions into utility for Regen Tulum and as part of the team that is bringing Tulum Coin to market.

Karen Sieves is digital and traditional business designer, specializing in blockchain, NFT, and metaverse strategy development. Karen has been building projects in the blockchain and Web3 since 2017 and believes that these technologies are integral and essential to all modern and successful businesses. Her current projects such as MetaInvestors.eth are focused on education, web3 adoption and marketplace growth.

NFTs to Save the Planet

Another insightful and inspiring panel, NFTs to Save the Planet was headlined by Charlie Graham, CoFounder of Nemus and Pinche Chucho of Petgaseritos collection from Petgas. Both collections are on a mission to save the planet through Web3.

Chucho Escoto Faces, Petgaseritos, Sandra Ponce de Leon, NFT Boutique, Charlie Graham, Nemus, Tulum Crypto Fest

Nemus´ model is the creation of NFTs that correlate to actual Amazon Rainforest land held in trust. The mint raise goes to the protection of this land, approximately the size of the island of Barbados or 41,000 hectares with plans to continue to expand the protected land acquired as well as sustainably develop the land with indigenous populations. Nemus is the first to use many innovations in both its planned game mechanics as well as how it is currently crowdsourcing its lore and getting its Guardians involved in the building and creation process. Nemus is building a ¨greenprint¨ for how to use Web3 as a model for conservation and inspiring a movement of similar projects that are using NFTs to bring awareness to and to save precious ecosystems like the Amazon.

Petgaseritos is the brainchild of Pinche Chucho, also known as Chucho Escoto Faces, Cofounder of Petgas.mx, a Mexican company that is bringing a new innovation to market that transforms plastic into clean fuels. The Petgaseritos go on adventures IRL (in real life) and around the metaverse incentivizing “plastic mining” through beach cleanups and other plastic collection initiatives which tie into the Petgas mission of shared responsibility where we all take part in saving the earth and de-plastifying the planet. Petgas NFT collections such as Petgaseritos will offer actual Petgas plant revenues as passive income opportunities and other drops of unlockable content. Petgaseritos and Petgas coin are two of the planned NFT collection launches it is planning as part of its web3 and corporate innovation strategy.

The XibablaNFT takes inspiration from Nemus´ Greenprint for Conservation. The 10,000 NFT planned collection will present the 10,000 square meters of stalactite and stalagmite filled cavern that is the most important cavern in the Mayan World.

The Zazil Tunich cenote, future XibalbaNFT

A beautiful jewelbox of nature’s artwork, it hosts thousands of natural formations that have been forming since the meteorite that hit the earth and caused the Ice age killing the dinosaurs. It has one formation that is over 500,000 years old. The NFT project is meant to continue the work of the family that has been taking care of the cenote and restoring it to its current state and beauty.

NFT Boutique at the Beach Holographic Experience

The NFT Boutique brought its holographic experience to the beach at Papaya Playa featuring new upcoming collections

NFT Boutique Holographic Experience featuring Plantiver.se and House of Panther

such as the House of Panther, existing house collections Cosmic Cats 420, Petgaseritos, and also new partner collections currently for sale and minting such as The Eye of Soluminati, and Plantiver.se a collection of NFTs made by the plants themselves!

Plantiver.se is giving plants autonomy and a voice so that they can be active participants in the metaverse as well as our real world! The project attaches sensor to different plants and let their state control what art gets made. In this way, the plants have created beautiful images from a moment in their life, making them unique, collectible records and reminders of the powers and talents of the natural world we live in.

Tulum Crypto Fest brought the Tuluminati barefoot luxury beach vibes and showed the world why Tulum is the cultural center of Web3. A huge thanks to fest organizers, Tulum Crypto Fest, Like Group, Nazieh Fazli and Peiman Fazli of Coworking Tulum, and Feel the Fruit.

Startups… looking for an excuse to get to Brazil? Look no further. Web Summit announced today a new event to take place in Rio de Janeiro in May 2023: Web Summit Rio.

Web Summit Rio will join the roster of international events organized by Web Summit, which already includes Collision in North America, RISE in Asia, and the flagship Web Summit, which takes place in Lisbon every November.

Web Summit Rio is another milestone for the Dublin-based company as it expands in response to increasing demand for relevant travel and in-person gatherings post-pandemic. After receiving bids from several cities across Brazil, Web Summit has selected Rio de Janeiro as the new event’s host city for the next three years.

Brazil has a rapidly expanding tech and startup economy. It is home to 21 unicorn companies, and Rio de Janeiro’s reputation as a startup hub is gaining international recognition, including from Grit Daily.

Web Summit Rio will be the largest tech event in Brazil, which is the world’s ninth largest economy and the only Latin American nation listed among the 10 leading global unicorn markets.

The first year of the event will host 10,000+ attendees from around the world, and will take place at Riocentro – one of the most versatile convention centers in Brazil, with almost 87,000 sq m of indoor space.

“We are delighted to bring a brand new Web Summit event to one of the most iconic cities in the world. I hope and expect Web Summit Rio will become one of the largest tech events in the world. Rio is widely seen as one of the hottest destinations for the tech industry. International investors are looking at Latin America, and Brazil in particular, attracted by some of the hottest startups in the region. Last year alone, Brazil saw 10 more companies hitting unicorn status, while Brazilian startups raised US$9.4 billion – triple what was raised in 2020. We feel it is the place to be right now, and we can’t wait to have our first Web Summit Rio there in 2023.” –  Paddy Cosgrave, Web Summit founder and CEO.

“The support of Brazilian public and private entities – and, in particular, the commitment of Eduardo Paes, the mayor of Rio – were essential in bringing this brand new Web Summit event to Rio. We are very excited to continue the global expansion of Web Summit, and we can’t wait to welcome thousands of attendees, partners and exhibitors to such an amazing venue and city.” – Artur Pereira, Web Summit’s country manager for Portugal and one of the main architects of the deal.

“Rio has always been the stage for important themes to the world. Now, once again, we will lead the region while bringing together the best companies, talents and investors to discuss technology and innovation.

Rio has a tradition of hosting major international events, and we are proud to have been chosen as the first city in Latin America to host this major event.” – Mayor Eduardo Paes of Rio de Janeiro.

“Web Summit Rio marks the beginning of a partnership between the city of Rio and the Web Summit group to transform the tech ecosystem in Latin America. We are confident that Web Summit has found its new home for the next decade, and certain that they will be an important partner in building a more sustainable, technological and inclusive city together with us. Welcome, Web Summit Rio. The stage is yours.”

Tulum Crypto Fest is coming to show the world why.

Tulum’s exquisite beauty is everywhere – from its clear, crystal blue sea water to its cleansing and transcendent cenotes, it is a magical place with extraordinary energy and pull. This shiny gem on the Mayan Riviera has always been a place of great importance and energy. The ancient Mayan name for Tulum is Zama, meaning City of Dawn. Zama was an important trading hub, where the Mayans built a beautiful temple.

Tulum has always been a cultural center. Digital nomads, technologists, crypto enthusiasts, and eco-warriors from all over the world (author included) have flocked to Tulum since realizing that WFH (work from home) could in fact mean WFB (work from the beach).

Tulum Beach

Tulum Crypto Fest (TCF), May 13-15, plans to shine a spotlight on this “barefoot luxury” lifestyle. Tulum has become a portal to a life of business mixed with pleasure, while surrounded by nature.

The festival theme “Where nature meets technology” unites the two worlds through an IRL techno-luxury experience connecting with the brightest minds in Defi, planet freethinkers, and eco-conscious builders, along with excellent content and networking. TCF is a non-traditional festival that features renowned international speakers, unique interactive experiences and a spotlight on the boho-chic decentralized way of life that has become a magnet for the world.

TCF has partnered with NFT Boutique in Tulum to provide an “NFT Boutique at the Beach” experience through holographic NFT displays in the Papaya Playa Project courtyard, where the festival will be centered.

NFT Boutique is also excited to present a special daily happy hour during the fest from 5-8pm featuring Crypto Art and Culture exhibit by Aaron Koenig.

More Women in Crypto courtesy of Justine Jade

The festival itself takes place in the beautiful beachside eco-hotel, Papaya Playa Project (PPP), a hotel that is emblematic of Tulum’s boho chic. TCF will be an immersive experience featuring 5-star service and unique experiences accessible only to attendees. These include a private cenote event, healing and wellness, and evening activities including top DJs. Attendees can truly have a taste the barefoot luxury lifestyle Tulum offers.

The Yucatan Peninsula has around 6,000 cenotes (pronounced seh-NO-tay), which is Spanish for “sinkhole.”

For tickets to Tulum Crypto Fest, use this link and code NFTBoutique for a discount! See you at the beach!

In the US, it can be difficult to think about taking a vacation and travel every year. It’s standard for companies to offer employees 10 paid vacation days per year. Yet, less than half of us actually take those days off. America gets far less time off than many other countries, and we don’t to take full advantage of our downtime.

In Finland, where individuals get 30 paid vacation days per year, studies show that people are happier. Of course, happiness has to do with a sense of well being, which results from utilization of self-care opportunities. Those who are happier and have a more positive outlook are also those who are more creative and more productive.

Not Using Time Off Leads to Burnout

Working hard all the time and neglecting days off and self-care has a negative impact on how productive we are. Neurologists say that people who work 15 hour days only get 30 minutes of actual work done in their last few hours. Time to reset and rest gives us greater ability to function at full capacity the following day.

Those who don’t indulge in the yearly vacation neglect to do so for other reasons. These include fear of being replaceable at work, stress of planning the vacation, anxiety over safety and security (particularly since COVID), having to worry about pets, and budget.

Many Americans may have the notion that a vacation must necessarily cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, but this is simply not true. In actuality, the US is absolutely full of very budget friendly vacation spots. Not only that, but it’s easy to bring pets along, and these vacation spots can be found close to home almost all the time.

With about 14,000 privately owned campgrounds and RV parks, it’s easy to plan an outdoor vacation. It can be full of fun and opportunities for making memories with friends and family without breaking the bank. Different types of outdoor adventures fit different budgets such as a more primitive camping, or glamping. Glamping combines hotel amenities with the experience of the outdoors. Such vacations can cost anywhere from nearly free to to $3000 per day. Such a wide range of costs allows every individual can fit within their own budgets and vacation wants.

Planning an outdoor vacation doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. Having such an experience can help you reset, re-center yourself, disconnect, and focus on the important things for a while so that you’re ready to get back to the daily grind with vigor and rejuvenation.

Make memories last with activities from hiking, fishing, swimming, singing around a campfire, visiting waterparks and sightseeing. An outdoor vacation is a perfect solution of how and where to spend all your paid vacation days.

“Where can I go?” This is one of the most commonly asked questions by today’s travelers. While people have summoned up the courage to explore again, many are overwhelmed and concerned about the complexities of the ever-shifting regulations in a changed travel landscape. Although there are a number of new services that look to help travelers with useful maps, search options and similar features, they all miss a crucial element of personalizing the recommendations to the customer’s specific needs.

Travel-planning app Origin is releasing its most-personalized feature yet, and the first of its kind in the industry. The intuitive tool takes into account travel preferences and COVID restriction regulations to help users decide on their next adventure with complete peace of mind. It’s a total game-changer for tailored and inspirational travel.

“We started thinking on how to combine industry knowledge with personal preferences that users share with us,” says Origin co-founder and CEO, Eli Bressert. “We looked at solutions out in the market but none of them give you recommendations tailored to your needs. That’s where we saw an opportunity to further empower travelers.”

Available in the Origin app for free, the tailored travel feature uses a combination of machine learning and expert curators to inspire incredible experiences, all chosen to suit individual travel preferences. Users simply add their vaccination status, what restrictions they’re comfortable with, which ones they want to avoid – like mandatory quarantines – and the feature instantly surfaces perfectly-matched travel ideas. It’s much more than just a list of destinations – it provides unique, original adventures perfectly suited to how Origin members want to travel.

The feature is one-of-kind. It is updated on a daily basis to provide users with the most relevant information on where they can go and how. Users also receive a weekly round up with the latest destinations and adventures that have opened up that match their profile. With refreshed content every time any COVID or other restrictions change, this feature is a natural extension of Origin’s mission to create truly personalized travel.

“We created Origin because modern travel has become extremely complicated and we believe that transformational travel allows people to live out their dreams,” said Eli. “The barrier of travel planning, the time it consumes, and insider knowledge on destinations are holding people back from maximizing their travel experiences. Origin removes all those obstacles and makes the end-to-end experience a breeze.”

Interested travelers sign up to be a member at a $3,000 USD annual membership fee for unlimited trip servicing and use the Origin app to tell Origin exactly how they like to travel, and everything they want from their next adventures. Personalization gets better and better with every trip from the same member.

Origin believes strongly in having a positive impact on the world and on the places its members explore. That’s why the company carbon offsets all members’ trips and prioritizes accommodation and destinations that have a strong connection to the local community and share Origin’s sustainability values. In light of the devastation in Ukraine, Origin is matching all donations made by its employees to help support victims of the war. Origin will match any amount up to €500 per person to any chosen charity.

The post 10 Tech Talks During SXSW You Won’t Want to Miss appeared first on Grit Daily News.

February is over and thousands of entrepreneurs, creatives, artists, marketers, journalists, and tech enthusiasts are getting ready to converge in Austin for what promises to be one of the biggest events of 2022: South by Southwest (SXSW).

Set to start on March 11th, SXSW has quickly become one of the bastions of the creative, tech, and music industry ever since being founded in 1987 when it started as an event with only 700 attendees on opening day. After gathering over 400k attendees in 2019, the height of the COVID19 pandemic forced the event organizers to cancel the 2020 edition and to run the 2021 edition virtually.

With 65% of all Americans fully vaccinated and the world returning to normality, Austin is now ready to receive attendees once again to the first in-person edition of SXSW since the start of the pandemic. While the city is still at Stage 3 of its COVID-19 Risk-Based Guidelines, the organizers and local government are positive about the upcoming conference, with Austin Public Health’s Interim Authority Dr. Mark Escott saying:

“I’m very confident that SXSW will look normal, or near-normal next year.”

If you are thinking about joining the party, you should start planning your itinerary to be sure you don’t miss the action. We have compiled a list of 10 tech talks that will be taking place during SXSW you won’t want to miss.

When Satoshi Nakamoto published the whitepaper for Bitcoin back in 2008, no one would have imagined that cryptocurrencies would take the world by storm less than 10 years later. Now, even central banks are taking a page out of Bitcoin’s book as they race to develop their Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs).

Tushar Nadkarni, Chief Growth & Product Officer at Celsius Network, will share his vision on the digital future of money, the latest trends, and how the transition will impact businesses and people around the world. Having worked for financial companies like Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Company, and PayPal, as well as his current role helping shape one of the biggest fintech platforms in the crypto space, few people are more qualified to predict the future of money.

What is web3? It’s Silicon Valley’s Latest Identity Crisis – Karim Nurani

Web3 was one of the hottest topics in and out of the blockchain space in 2021. Promising to be the next stage in the evolution of the internet, the popularity of Web3 has resulted in Silicon Valley giants struggling to retain top talent. With even the inventor of the internet, Sir Bernes Lee, joining the efforts to create a decentralized internet that brings control back to users, web3 is supposed to be the future.

Entrepreneur, Investor, and Chief Strategy Officer at Linqto Karim Nurani has a unique perspective of what Web3 is and what its effects will be in the tech world, especially when it comes to entrepreneurship. Having invested in some of the world’s biggest startups and unicorns across multiple industries, Karim has established himself as a visionary with an eye for what the future will be like.

How NFTs Can Move Beyond Arts and Entertainment – Karim Nuran

Coverage of NFTs might have slowed down but the craze is still going in the crypto space with over $2 billion in sales over the past month, according to NonFungible. While NFTs have been mainly used by the arts and entertainment industries to satisfy the demand for collectibles, the potential of the technology is far greater.

With his experience spanning across industries, it is not a surprise that Karim Nuran believes there is much more to NFTs than meets the eye. Karim, who is also an Advisor for several blockchain-related startups like Andra Capital, will take the stage once again to discuss what the potential use cases on NFTs are.

The Next Level: How Video Games Help You Succeed – Reggie Fils-Aimé

Gaming has been one of the major drivers behind crypto and technological development over the past years, especially when it comes to the metaverse. With games like World Of Warcraft, Second Life, Roblox, Eve Online, Minecraft, and Final Fantasy XIV being considered precursors to the metaverse, the gaming ecosystem is worth looking for to know what to expect.

When it comes to gaming, Reggie Fils-Aimé is one of the most well-known games in the history of the space.  As the former president and chief operating officer (COO) of Nintendo of America, Reggie has played a major role in the success and growth of gaming and esports in the west ever since 2004.

In this featured keynote, the American businessman will be talking about the role he expects gaming to play in the adoption and development of technologies like Web3 and the Metaverse. In an interview with SXSW, Reggie said about the role of video games in the tech industry:

“Video games have been the most experimental and most provocative form of entertainment — AR, VR, games as a form of exercise — and I fully expect that to continue. I think the pace of innovation in the space is unparalleled. The challenge of a leader is to create new targets, set new bars, and to reframe what success looks like.”

Hosted by SXSW, this keynote will take place on Saturday, March 12th at 1:00 PM at Ballroom D.

It is not a secret that as the world has become more connected through the internet and other technologies, it has become more difficult to know which information to trust. With polarization, informational warfare, misinformation, and centralization, people around the world are at a crossroads never seen before.

The recent COVID19 pandemic and the situation in Ukraine are just some examples of how this issue can affect democracy, human rights, and public health. European Commission Executive Vice President Margrethe Vestager, one of the most respected leaders and experts in democratic digital governance, will be taking the stage to discuss the topic at a critical time.

Hotel Engine, a hospitality startup based in Denver, has raised $65 million in Series B funding to expand its lodging performance network to help the tourism sector continue its recovery.

The funding round was led by Telescope Partners with participation from Blackstone, bringing Hotel Engine’s valuation to $1.3 billion. This valuation represents a 9x increase over the valuation the startup had back in 2019 when it closed its Series A round. Mickey Arabelovic, Telescope’s Managing Partner and Founder, referred to the firm’s continued support by stating:

“Since our investment in late 2019, we’ve worked closely with Elia and the Hotel Engine team, and are consistently impressed by their passion, tenacity and singular focus on business lodging. There is no other company that delivers a friction-less, easy-to-use solution for travelers, and they’re just getting started. We’re thrilled to be able to strengthen our partnership, and excited by the opportunities ahead for Hotel Engine.”

Hotel Engine was founded with the mission to help create a richer and more rewarding business travel experience for its users. To achieve this, the startup has established partnerships with a global network of business and lodging partners, delivering savings and convenience via a single platform. Elia Wallen, founder and CEO of Hotel Engine, said about this mission:

“The new and exponentially higher valuation is an exciting milestone for all of us at Hotel Engine, and it’s just the beginning. This capital infusion will allow us to innovate faster, grow our global network of lodging partners, and add more world-class talent to our team.”

Providing business travelers with a straightforward and better experience has become one of the priorities for organizations in the tourism industry as they try to recover from the economic impact of the COVID19 pandemic. Hotel Engine believes that by bringing multiple partners together and combining them with smart technology, it can help the industry accelerate the recovery and confront the effects of the upcoming Omicron variant.
